a bit about me & my process....
I am fortunate that being creative was encouraged from a young age. I've had years of practise with playing & exploring.
Each project I do is for me. I try to create independently of the good opinion of others.
I can only create like me, for me. When I accept that, my work becomes my work & I connect with authenticity. I use authenticity as a check-point to help stay away from perfectionism (trying to win approval & acceptance; straining unceasingly toward unobtainable goals.).
When I feel uncertain about a project I take a breath & keep moving. I remind myself of my initial intention, start over or let go of a certain part of the piece. When mistakes happen,
I watch them. Sometimes they lead me to exactly where I need to go & end up incorporated into the work to become its essence.
I love that!
Of course, it is most important to have fun. If I’m not having fun & connecting with a feeling of timelessness I’m not creating; I’m working.
Life is too short to make our “works” into “work”.
